Summer Boost Registration now OPEN!

Summer Boost and Summer Expedition Registration are now Open!

 Summer Boost:

Beginning July 4th, the WCDSB will be offering 15 days of in-person FREE Literacy and Numeracy learning support for students currently in SK to Grade 6 inclusive through the Summer Boost program.

If you are interested in bridging the gaps in learning, making new friends online, honing your Literacy and Numeracy skills through fun and engaging activities, learning more about mental health and resiliency as well as weekly STEM challenges then Summer Boost is for YOU!

Summer Expedition:

Is your child currently in Grade 6, 7 or 8. Going into Grade 7, 8 or 9 in September 2022?

Does your child need to improve their reading, writing, comprehension, numeracy and technology skills?

Has their teacher recommended additional supports in these areas? Do they need a renewed interest in school?

Explore a FREE 3-week literacy and numeracy support summer program for students completing Grade 6, 7 & 8. Visual literacy and visual media are used to develop literacy skills in all forms. Numeracy and technology skills are critical. Take the extra instructional time to prepare students for the next grade, Taught by WCDSB certified teachers.

Includes a collection of tasks and learning tools that students will find meaningful, educational and fun.

Our Catholic School Advisory Council has organized a parent night with Dr. Walpole Tuesday, June 7, 2022 @ 7pm online.
Dr. Beverly Walpole is a Child Psychologist in Guelph and she will speak about anxiety in school-age children.  During her talk she will discuss simple emotional coaching techniques that support all children.  Join us Tuesday, June 7, 2022 online.  Please complete the Google Form below to registered for the Zoom invite.

OAPCE meeting May 17 @ 7:00pm

REMINDER!  Tomorrow Night!  You are invited to our first OAPCE Waterloo meeting being held via zoom on Tuesday May 17th, 2022 at 7:00 pm.
Join us as we will be hosting Anne Jamieson, who is the Executive Director, Institute of Catholic Education.Anne began her career in Toronto working for the Ministry of Community and Social Services and left Toronto to become an elementary school teacher with the Waterloo Catholic District School Board, where she taught for 14 years. She came to work for the Diocese of Hamilton in 2008 as the Director of the Catechesis Office. She has been a lecturer at St. Augustine’s Seminary in Toronto and has provided professional development to teachers across Canada in teaching Religious Education. She holds her Doctor of Ministry from The University of Toronto. Anne is the author and co-author of several parish-based resources for small groups. She has created online resources for schools and parishes. Her newest book is A Recipe for Faith: Choosing and Using the Best Ingredients, from Novalis Publishing. Anne is the newly appointed Executive Director of the Institute for Catholic Education in Ontario. She describes herself as a wife and mother, a life-long learner, a lover of Catholic Education, and a sometimes competitive baker. Anne and her husband, David, live on the family farm in southwestern Ontario with their four children, ages 15 to 25.  Her children are the 7th generation of Jamiesons to live and work on the farm.

It’s Cap and Cookie day on Monday, May 9th.  Thank you for all your hard work with our school Dance-A-Thon Fundraiser.  Each student will receive a cookie from our Catholic School Advisory Council. Don’t forget to wear your favourite hat, ball cap, or bonnet!
