Volunteers needed!

Dear St. Luke parents:

We are looking for some volunteers to help keep our daily lunch program running.

We need some help with pizza distribution on Wednesdays from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. Volunteers would be responsible for dividing the pizza for each classroom and delivering pizza to the primary classrooms. Volunteers typically commit to a weekly or bi-weekly schedule.

We also need a backup person for Elle Ford, who leads the entire ESNS lunch program (Monday to Friday) for our school. This individual would be on call for sick days or holidays. The rate of pay is $15 per day and the time commitment is approximately 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. The responsibilities include sorting the hot lunches by classroom, along with the milk. Food and milk is delivered to the Kindergarten classrooms, and students from Grade 1 to 8 classrooms pick up their orders.

If you are interested in either of these positions or would like some more information, please email Elle Ford at We would like to have interested individuals signed up by the week of September 23rd, which is when the lunch program starts.

Thank you for considering these opportunities to be involved in our school!

Welcome back to a new school year, Lightning!

Dear families of St. Luke Catholic Elementary School:

We hope you have had a wonderful summer, full of blessings and memories. We have been busy preparing for the new school year and we are so excited to see our students next week!

Students in Grades 1 to 8 will meet on the blacktop at the back of the school by 8:20 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3rd. Teachers will be holding a sign with their grade number to help students locate their teachers. Teachers will take attendance outside then proceed to the classrooms with their students. If it rains on Tuesday, we will carry out this process in the gym.

JK students will follow the staggered entry plan that has been communicated, and SK students will start school on Wednesday, September 4th.

An envelope with several forms will be sent home with all students on their first day of school. Please return forms by Friday, September 6th. Next year, this process will be completed online.

Please stay connected with us this year through NewsWire and Twitter, both accessible on our school website ( Our Google calendar will be updated shortly, once we confirm a few dates. We want you to feel welcome at St. Luke CES and look forward to you joining us for special events and celebrations.

Thank you for your ongoing support as we embark on exciting new learning adventures this year!
