Shrove Tuesday – Volunteers Needed!

Shrove Tuesday is coming up soon – March 5th! We would like to offer pancakes to our students again this year, however, we will not be able to do this without the help of several volunteers. We need about 10 pancake flippers to help out from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., and we need about 20 volunteers to help with more pancake flipping and delivery to classrooms from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. If you are able to help us, please email Ange McNamara at The deadline to respond is Thursday, February 28th at 3:00 p.m. We will send out another NewsWire on Friday, March 1st to let you know whether or not we will be offering pancakes this year.

St. Luke CES Fundraiser – Update #3

The Fundraiser Committee has started to count the funds that came in today. Wow, we are very excited about the amount so far! If your child’s pledge forms and money did not come in today due to an absence from school, please ensure that everything comes in tomorrow. Thank you again for your support!

We are excited for this Thursday’s Dance-a-Thon to celebrate everyone’s hard work and generosity!

St. Luke CES Fundraiser Update

This is a reminder that Monday, February 25th is the deadline for pledge forms, money and raffle prize donations for our school fundraiser. We have some awesome prizes coming in already, including a BIKE that has been donated by ESNS! Thanks to all students, families and friends of St. Luke CES for supporting our fundraiser. We are looking forward to celebrating our success with an exciting dance-a-thon on Thursday, February 28th!

Dear families of St. Luke CES:

We have just kicked off our annual school fundraiser! Pledge forms went home with students last week and our big dance-a-thon event is on Thursday, February 28th. We are hoping to raise funds for classroom, library and physical activity resources. Pledge forms and money are due back to the school on Monday, February 25th. Students will be rewarded for their fundraising efforts with some special activities and a raffle on the day of the event.

In addition to all the fun that students will have on the dance-a-thon day, there will be school-wide incentives for reaching fundraising levels. There will be rewards for top-earning classes within each division. There will also be individual rewards… Each student who raises over $100 will have their name entered in a draw for a $100 gift card for Conestoga Mall. Gift cards for $25 will be given to the student in each division who raises the most money. (The winner of the $100 gift card is not eligible for the $25 gift card.)

We are gratefully accepting raffle prize donations. These can be dropped off in the office by Monday, February 25th. Please remember to include your child’s name with your donation.

In order to make our dance-a-thon fundraiser successful, we will need volunteers. Help is needed on Monday, February 25th, Tuesday, February 26th and Thursday, February 28th. Please email Melinda Hannusch ( or call the school at 519-884-4912 to let us know if you are able to help.

If you have any questions about our school fundraiser, please call the school.

Thank you for your support!
