Mission Day – Funds Raised

We raised a whopping $4532.00 for this year’s Mission Day! What a huge success! $500.00 of this amount will go to the Clarke Young Legacy Fund and the rest will go to the Free the Children organization. It is wonderful to hold an event that supports children locally and globally. Way to go, Lightning! Thank you to all families who supported our Mission Day in any way. Thanks, also, to Mr. Tignanelli and Mrs. Szczepanowski for organizing this annual event.

MISSION DAY REMINDER

PLEASE NOTE*  If you are making a cake for the “Cake Walk” at our Mission Day tomorrow could you please bring it to the office first thing in the morning.

Thank you.

MISSION DAY 2018

Mission Day

Mark your calendar … St. Luke School will be hosting our annual Mission Day on Friday, June 22nd at 12:30—2:15.  For those families that are not familiar with Mission Day, it involves each classroom hosting a fun event or sale much like a fun fair.  This day is intended to build school spirit.   We will be looking for any donations that you may be able to provide (i.e. items for raffles, prizes, etc.).  Some items that you can donate at the office any time include: new or gently used stuffed animals, new or gently used children’s books and DVDs, washable tattoos, and cakes in non returnable containers dropped off on the morning of the 22nd. Thank you for your support to make this day a success! All funds raised will be donated to Free the Children”.    As well a portion of the money collected will be given to the Clarke Young Legacy Fund (a former student of St. Luke).

STRONG START VOLUNTEERS

Are you interested in volunteering for Strong Start in the fall? Strong Start is a program that uses fun games and activities to help a child develop reading skills. The program is a 10 week commitment. At St. Luke Catholic School, we run the program in the fall as well as in the spring. Volunteers are required to take a 2 part training session. There is a session coming up June 12th/June 19 from 7-9 pm at Crestview Public School. There will be training sessions offered in the fall as well. If you are interested please contact Dana Ropp to learn more about this worthwhile program.

Back to School in September

This year, we will not be offering early package pick-up the last week of August. Students will receive their packages on the first day of school. On Tuesday, September 4th, all Grade 1 to 8 students will gather at the back of the school on the blacktop, as they normally do before school. Teachers will be holding up their grade number. Students will find the teacher(s) holding their grade number and teachers will help students find their classes. We look forward to seeing all students back at school on September 4th!
